Augusta County was formed in 1738. The county boundaries once stretched all the way to the Mississippi River. Currently, the County is more than half of the size of Rhode Island, the second largest county in land area in Virginia.
Just as the frontiers were all but unlimited for the early settlers of our region, we believe that opportunity is as great today as it has ever been.
